What's Left is Now

In the waiting
Saw a light I thought I could reach
It burned out in front of me

I was humbled
Young and wide-eyed
Time has a way of blurring the pages

Late nights of thinking too much
Feeling like my whole life’s been right on a cusp
I can’t help but wish I were all that I’m not
But I let it float on
(let it float on)

I’ve felt it all in layered shades
Unfolding over and out
‘Cause when we fall, I see the space
How far we’ve made it off the ground
What’s left is now

In a new place
Healing better
Still, I got baggage from all these broken bones

Reckoning scars
From the years I’ve weathered
But I guess I have some depth now

Late nights of thinking too much
Feeling like my whole life’s been right on a cusp
Finally, there’s a flame in the wake of the loss
And we’ll let it float on

I’ve felt it all in layered shades
Unfolding over and out
‘Cause when we fall I see the space
How far we’ve made it off the ground
What’s left is now

And maybe it’s all an art of omission
'Cause in the end, all that we really have is now
There’s a vantage point from at a distance
When I look around--

I’ve felt it all in layered shades
Unfolding over and out
‘Cause when we fall I see the space
How far we’ve made it off the ground
What’s left is now

We’re in the in-between, where everything is found
(Between where everything)
We’re in the in-between, where everything is found

What’s left is now
